Q&A with Dr. Peter Charissé, Managing Director, ANGA COM
ANGA COM 2019 will take place in a few weeks time, on June 4-6 in Cologne, Germany. Broadband TV News catches up with Dr. Peter Charissé, Managing Director, ANGA COM.
Peter, ANGA COM just announced a booking level of more than 500 exhibitors. What can you tell us about the exhibitor structure?
We have exhibitors from 35 nations and a particularly large number of new additions in the areas of Fiber and AppTV/OTT. Our strength, the close link between broadband and media, is apparently hitting the industry trend better than ever. And we are happy to see, that global vendors and mid-sized companies are equally represented.
You have extended the conference programme – what are the reasons behind it?
The extension of our agenda to 36 event panels is aimed in two directions: On the one hand, we want to further deepen new topics such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Services and Cyber Security. On the other hand, we want to offer international visitors even more English-language panels.
Could you tell us more about this – what can international conference attendees expect?
The extended international programme consists of 18 English-speaking panels and 10 International Keynotes. C-level panels are the International Content Summit and the International CTO Summit on the first day. The International CTO Summit features top-level speakers from ARRIS, Liberty Global, Sunrise Communications, TDC, Tele2, Vodafone and WISI. The International Content Summit deals with “Content Strategies for Broadband Networks, Satellite and OTT”. High-level speakers are from Eutelsat, freenet, HD PLUS, M7, Metrological, Nordija and Synamedia. The technical conference track includes international panels in cooperation with the SCTE UK and the ISBE from the US.
And what about the other highlights of the conference?
In addition to the international summits, we will have two German summit discussions on the second day. The Broadband Summit with Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom and Tele Columbus, and the Media Summit with Amazon Prime Video, Discovery, ProSiebenSat.1, RTL, Vodafone and ZDF.
