Europe: Flexibility for national markets
The regulation of the telecommunications and media markets takes place to a large extent at European level. On the one hand, this concerns detailed questions of access to telecommunications networks, the shortening of licensing procedures or the findability of media content and the promotion of European media works. At the same time, the EU sets the broad framework for the future: the financing situation of the industry plays as much a role there as the future of the internal telecommunications market and the security of the networks.
Europe is increasingly relying on directly applicable legal acts with no flexibility for implementation in Germany. We advocate the interests of our member companies and the consideration of the German market and competitive situation in Brussels and vis-à-vis the German government.
